European defense companies urgently need to further clarify trade agreements with the United States.
Jin10 data reported on July 28, analysts Ross Law and Marie-Ange Riggio from Morgan Stanley said that defense companies within the EU need clear information on the EU's purchase agreements for US military equipment. They pointed out that one of the biggest unknowns is the scale and timeline of potential EU purchases of US-made weapons. US President Trump stated that this could reach "100s of billions". Analysts noted that other points requiring clarification include the types of equipment to be purchased, and to what extent the procurement is incremental or already includes orders placed with US defense manufacturers that have not yet been delivered. They added that, given the EU's ongoing reliance on US military equipment, EU defense companies may face pressure in the near future.
