Solana DePIN ecosystem revenue hits a new high for the year, with multiple projects showing stable rise.
Solana DePIN ecological income hits a new high for the year, with multiple projects showing a stable rise.
The decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) track in the Solana ecosystem performed well in April, with total monthly revenue reaching $458,000, a year-on-year rise of 33%, setting the highest level so far this year. This rise is mainly attributed to the stable development of several key projects.
However, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly decreased. Major projects such as Helium, Hivemapper, Nosana, Render, Sallar, Sourceful, and XNET collectively maintain around 87,000 active contributors.
It is noteworthy that in April 2025, the number of contributors to some smaller DePIN protocols saw a significant rise, with Nosana's growth rate surpassing 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors to larger protocols such as Helium and Hivemapper remained stable or slightly declined.
The following is an overview of the performance of major DePIN projects:
Dabba Network
Dabba Network is a DePIN project focused on the Indian market, deploying Wi-Fi hotspots in collaboration with local cable operators to provide users with high-speed, low-cost internet services. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption volume rose to 8000 TB, doubling, while device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a mobile virtual network operator under the Helium network, Helium Mobile combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots and cellular base stations from partner operators to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services.
In April, after Helium Mobile opened its free mobile plan to all users, the number of new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching 36,000, setting a new historical high. Correspondingly, Helium Mobile's revenue also set a new record of $250,000. The monthly revenue growth measured by data point destruction was 34%, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%.
In addition, the average daily uninstallation subscription volume of Helium Mobile rose by 65%, and the uninstallation data volume increased by 32%, both setting new historical records.
It is worth mentioning that since 2025, the number of active contributors to Helium has shown a slight downward trend, currently stabilizing at around 75,000.
XNET
XNET is a decentralized mobile network built on the Solana blockchain. In April, the data offloading of XNET continued to rise, with an average daily offload increasing by another 16%, maintaining a steady upward trend over the past 8 months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile in April still rose by 6%, reaching 732, setting a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes (the second highest in history) and 87,000 new users, with the total number of protocol nodes nearing 4 million and the user count approaching 3 million. Despite a 19% decrease in monthly user check-ins, the total number of check-ins has surpassed 300 million, indicating strong user retention.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps throughput, with high-performance computing capabilities. In two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to control and participate in the host's games in real-time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is used to monetize idle resources. The online duration in April has doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network built on the Solana blockchain, focusing on providing a distributed computing power market for AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion volume of Nosana and contributor rewards saw a slight rise, while GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project allows AI agents to run on the Nosana infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar is a platform that connects the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones to the network, forming distributed computing nodes to support high-performance computing needs. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass connects users' idle internet bandwidth to the network, providing a fundamental data source for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. In April, Grass's data collection reached a historic high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is a DePIN project based on the Solana blockchain that collects aircraft data in real-time through ADS-B hardware deployed by users worldwide. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the Wingbits network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, up 7% and 29% respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
Hivemapper is a decentralized mapping network where users collect street-level images through dashcams to earn HONEY token rewards. In April, the monthly mapping mileage remained stable, and its AI-driven platform for fleet management, Beekeeper, was officially launched. Since February, the number of active map contributors on Hivemapper has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices, supporting map creation, autonomous driving, and physical AI. In April, user-driven mileage maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy focuses on decentralized virtual power plants (VPP) and connects distributed energy resources to the Solana blockchain network. In April, power output rose by 30%, and the newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, with momentum expected to continue.
Ambios Network
Ambios Network has established the largest-scale environmental monitoring DePIN globally. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins exceeded 2 million times, with ecological data check-in volume rising by 12%; the total number of platform users increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem showed strong growth momentum in April, with multiple projects making significant progress in user growth, data collection, and revenue. These projects span various fields, from network connectivity and computing resource sharing to environmental monitoring, demonstrating the vast application prospects and potential of decentralized physical infrastructure networks.
