Scroll Mainnet launched for a week with a lock-up position exceeding 19.3 million dollars. Co-founder elaborates on future development.
Scroll Co-founder Haichen Talks About Mainnet Launch and Future Development Plans
Scroll, as an open-source Layer 2 solution led by Asian entrepreneurs, has recently reached an important milestone. After a long period of development and testing, Scroll officially launched its Mainnet on October 10.
As of October 27, the total locked value on the Scroll chain has exceeded 19.3 million USD. The number of Mainnet wallet addresses exceeds 147,000, and the total number of verified transactions has surpassed 860,000. From October 20 to 26, the average daily transaction count was close to 80,000, with a single-day peak transaction volume exceeding 100,000.
Recently, Scroll and Newman Group co-hosted the ETH Hong Kong event at Cyberport in Hong Kong. As the first large-scale event organized by the Ethereum community in Hong Kong, this event attracted significant attention. During the event, Scroll co-founder Haichen Shen was interviewed and shared his views on the development of Scroll.
Haichen stated that the launch of the Mainnet is an important milestone for Scroll, but it is also just a new starting point. The team spent two and a half years developing the infrastructure components and ensured that everything was ready after extensive testing. In the future, Scroll will introduce more features to further enhance security, reduce user costs, and provide more support for developers.
Speaking of ecological development, Haichen believes that the current progress meets expectations. Over $15 million has entered the Scroll chain within just over a week of its launch, and some DeFi applications have already generated transactions. Even more surprisingly, the contract deployment volume is growing rapidly, indicating the enthusiasm of developers.
In terms of technical route selection, Scroll has chosen the zkRollup solution based on zkEVM. Haichen believes that zk can provide users with faster and stronger security guarantees. At the same time, EVM equivalence allows developers to directly use Ethereum's development tools without modification, reducing development difficulty and risk.
Regarding future plans, Haichen stated that Scroll will first完善基础设施, such as RPC, indexing, and other services. After that, there will be a wave of DeFi applications. In the long term, Scroll hopes to build an open and neutral platform that treats all projects equally. There will be more focus on stablecoin payments, AA wallets, and other real-world applications, as well as public goods projects that benefit ecological development.
Haichen believes that the entire Layer 2 ecosystem competition is still in its infancy. In the future, further decentralization is needed to enhance security and attract more developers to participate. He believes that the Layer 2 market is not a zero-sum game, but a new track with huge development potential.
