Strategy Buys 130 Bitcoin: Nearing Half a Million BTC Amid Market Volatility
Strategy (also known as MicroStrategy) made another Bitcoin purchase announcement on March 17, 2025, that added 130 BTC to its current total of 499,226 BTC. Even with market volatility the company demonstrates a strong dedication to treat Bitcoin as its main treasury asset through its purchasing activities.
A History of Aggressive Accumulation
Strategy has increased its Bitcoin ownership by making major strategic acquisitions continuously throughout the years.
Strategic Financing for Bitcoin Purchases
Strategy has used several financial instruments to fund its extensive Bitcoin investment program. The company deployed its “At-the-Market” equity mechanism to sell shares of Class A common stock which generated billions to buy Bitcoin. It issued $584 million worth of convertible preferred stock through their STRK Nasdaq-traded securities in February 2025. Strategy plans to conduct additional stock offerings which may secure $21 billion to buy more Bitcoin assets.
Looking Ahead: Strategy’s Position in the Crypto Market
The cryptocurrency market sees ongoing influence from the company since it nears its target of acquiring half a million Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s future value appreciation motivates the company to use financial engineering methods so it can fund its acquisitions. Future business decisions for the company may depend on how investors react to its stock dilution and market valuation performance.
Strategy moves toward becoming the biggest institutional Bitcoin holder because of its growing Bitcoin yield and potential funding that positions the company for further market influence.
