The tension between Russia and Ukraine has seen significant developments, with US media reporting that President Trump, President Putin of Russia, and President Zelensky of Ukraine will meet, which will provide support for the buying of Crypto Assets.

According to the US media NPR, Russia has agreed to exchange more prisoners with Ukraine. Ukraine proposed that the presidents of the two countries meet this summer with President Trump and the Turkish leader to negotiate an end to the war. Trump recently threatened that if Russia fails to reach an agreement before early September, he will impose severe new economic sanctions on Moscow.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, stated that he proposed to hold meetings with Trump, Putin, Zelensky, and Turkish President Erdogan before the end of August.

However, the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, agreed with the earlier statement from the Kremlin that Russia and Ukraine need to make substantial progress in reaching an agreement before Putin and Zelensky can meet.

President Zelensky has initiated the latest round of negotiations, publicly demanding that Russia expedite the negotiation process. A series of talks that began in May previously facilitated a large-scale prisoner exchange but failed to stop the fighting.

"We must make every effort to achieve a ceasefire," Zelensky stated in a national address on Tuesday evening (July 22) before the latest negotiations in Istanbul. "The Russian side should no longer evade any decisions."

The latest negotiations took place amid Trump's growing dissatisfaction with Putin, as Russia continued its drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities during America's efforts to negotiate a ceasefire.

Trump stated earlier this month in an interview with reporters that Putin "has surprised many people."

Trump said: "He speaks very well, but at night he launches fierce attacks on everyone."

Trump approved the sale of US weapons to Ukraine last week, but with the condition that European NATO allies must purchase these weapons and provide them to Ukraine, which seems to be a significant shift in US policy.

Trump also threatened that if Moscow does not reach some form of peace agreement "within 50 days"—essentially a deadline of early September—he would impose additional "severe" economic sanctions on Russia.

However, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that the specific timing depends on how Trump views the progress of peace efforts.

Bruce said at a press conference on Tuesday: "What I want to remind you is that when the president mentions a certain time frame or window, it could be any time within that window."

She added, "If genuine negotiations are underway and progress is being made, then the situation could change rapidly. So for most of us, things are never static."

Block joins the S&P 500 Index, accelerating the depeg of Bitcoin from US stocks

Block's inclusion in the S&P 500 index may indirectly increase stock investors' exposure to Bitcoin and the mainstream acceptance of this asset. The company holds 8,584 BTC, which are worth approximately 1 billion USD. This makes Block the 13th largest BTC corporate holder.

Since the company announced its inclusion in the S&P 500 index, its stock price on the New York Stock Exchange has risen nearly 14% over the past five days.
