According to Jinse Caijing, Aptos Labs has officially launched Shelby in partnership with Jump Crypto. Shelby is a high-performance, decentralized hot storage designed for Web3 real-time applications, covering scenarios such as streaming media, AI data, social platforms, and DePIN. Shelby achieves read and write speeds and reliability comparable to cloud services through a global high-performance node, fiber backbone, and on-chain programmability architecture, breaking the centralization and performance bottlenecks of traditional Web2 services. It features sub-second response times, pay-as-you-go billing, token access control, DRM, smart contract permission control, and dynamic pricing capabilities. Projects like Metaplex, StoryProtocol, and PipeNetwork will be the first to integrate, and NBCUniversal also plans to use Shelby in streaming scenarios to further validate its cross-chain interaction real-time infrastructure potential.
