According to a report by CoinWorld, Elon Musk's brain-machine interface company Neuralink is collaborating with researchers in California and Spain on a clinical trial for a visual prosthesis. The news of Neuralink's involvement in the trial was disclosed in late July on ClinicalTrials, a government website listing medical research. This study is sponsored by the University of California, Santa Barbara. According to online descriptions, the goal of this research is to "address the fundamental issues that can lead to the development of intelligent bionic eyes." Researchers state that this device will use artificial intelligence to help blind people recognize faces, navigate outdoors, read, and more.
