Gold Ten Data News on July 17th, informed sources revealed that U.S. President Biden is planning to announce a major reform plan for the Supreme Court, including imposing term limits on the current lifetime-appointed justices. Given Biden's long-standing reluctance to support calls for Supreme Court reform within his party, the latest plan signifies a significant shift in the president's stance on this issue, and it comes at a time when Biden is striving to gain political support for his embattled campaign. According to The Washington Post, the president also discussed enforceable ethical standards for justices and a constitutional amendment that would overturn recent Supreme Court decisions providing broad immunity for official presidential actions. However, these significant changes will face considerable difficulties in becoming law. The U.S. Congress is not expected to discuss major legislation before the November election. Informed sources revealed that the White House has not yet consulted with members of the congressional judiciary committee on this plan.
