Jin10 data reported on August 8, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations stated on Friday that driven by rising international meat and vegetable oil prices, world food commodity prices reached their highest level in more than two years in July. The FAO indicated that the FAO Food Price Index, which serves as the global food price Benchmark, averaged 130.1 points in July 2025, an increase of 1.6% from June. This is the highest level since February 2023, although the index is 18.8% lower than the peak in March 2022 following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The FAO said that in July, the rise in meat and vegetable oil prices offset the declines in the prices of grains, dairy products, and sugar.
