Family members of Israeli hostages urge to expand the ceasefire between Israel and Iran to include Gaza.

Gate News bot reported that, according to CNN, an organization advocating for the release of hostages in Gaza has called on Israel and Iran to expand the ceasefire to include the war-torn Gaza Strip. The Forum for Hostages and Missing Relatives stated in a statement on Tuesday: "Those who can reach a ceasefire with Iran can also end the Gaza war."

The forum stated that the ceasefire "must be extended to Gaza," and called on the government to "conduct urgent negotiations to bring all hostages home and end the war."

The forum stated: "The people of Israel have been unable to sleep for 12 days and nights due to the Iran issue, and now we can finally be unable to sleep again because of the hostage issue."

The Iran-backed militant group Hamas is currently holding 50 hostages. According to the Israeli government, 20 of them are believed to still be alive.

The forum added: "If we cannot leverage our success to bring all hostages home, then this decisive action against Iran will be a serious failure." The forum referred to it as a "critical window of opportunity."

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid also expressed the same view, posting on X: "Now is the time to close the Gaza Strip. Bring the hostages home and end the war. Israel needs to start rebuilding."
