Arizona reintroduces Bitcoin reserve bill and passes it in the Senate
According to Gate News bot, as reported by Crypto Briefing, following the update on Thursday regarding Bitcoin Laws (, Arizona lawmakers re-voted to pass House Bill 2324 ), which proposes the creation of a state-level management fund for Bitcoin and other digital assets seized through criminal forfeiture.
The HB2324 bill was introduced in the Arizona House of Representatives in February and was passed by the Senate in early May. However, the House failed to approve the bill in the final vote, resulting in a stalled progress.
After a series of procedural motions were re-examined by the two chambers, the bill was once again placed on the agenda in mid-June and was passed by the Senate on Thursday with a narrow margin of 16 votes in favor and 14 votes against, and is now being submitted to the House of Representatives for a final vote.
The HB2324 bill aims to establish a Bitcoin and digital asset reserve fund supervised by the state treasurer. The fund will manage digital assets confiscated through criminal asset forfeiture proceedings.
The proposed legislation outlines three options for handling seized digital assets, including storage in state-approved digital wallets, sale through licensed cryptocurrency exchanges, and retention in their native form based on market and security factors.
