ZachXBT stated that law enforcement detained the wrong suspect in the Bored Ape NFT theft case.
According to a report by Cointelegraph on May 10, Deep Tide TechFlow news states that cybersecurity researcher ZachXBT indicated that law enforcement detained the wrong suspect in a Bored Ape NFT theft case worth over $1 million in 2022.
On May 9, ZachXBT stated in a post on platform X that he has identified wallets associated with the scam and linked them to a deleted X account. In 2023, law enforcement detained former Yuga Labs security researcher Sam Curry at the airport, suspecting his involvement in the incident. In fact, Curry was only investigating this theft case as part of his security work. ZachXBT identified a suspect he believes may be involved in the 2022 theft case through tracking the flow of funds (including reconstructing the flow of funds through the Ethereum mixer Tornado).
